James 5:13-16 Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you. Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And then prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Three Steps to Healing
- Call the Elders of the Church (verse 14)
- The Elders respond by praying over him and anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
- Submit the illness to God’s will in prayer
- Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Five Principals Regarding Divine Healing
- The will of God is permanent. Respect it. 1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who had called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, mke you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.
