SALVATION

Each person on earth while being physically alive, begins that life spiritually dead and in need of new life in Jesus Christ. This sinful condition puts each of us in rebellion against God who made us, and loves us. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save the world. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection together accomplishes the redemption of all who trust in Him. Please reach out to us at corneliaavenuebaptistchurch@gmail.com to learn more.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Jesus, in John 3:16

WORSHIP

We gather on Sunday morning to worship the Lord in song, prayer and expository preaching from God’s Word, the Bible. All are welcome to participate at 11:00 am.

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus in John 4:24

FELLOWSHIP

As God began to grow the early church, the habit of gathering together to encourage one another became the pattern that we continue to this day. Cornelia is a Biblically based church where you can experience love and belonging.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

Luke in Acts 2:42

MEMBERSHIP

Cornelia is a local body of followers of Jesus Christ and becoming a member is a way to say, “I’m with you” to the pastor, and to all the others who are part of the church. Church membership is a step of accepting partnership and responsibility.

To become a member, each person acknowledges agreement with the doctrinal beliefs of the church. Then, each person makes their stand with Jesus Christ public by getting baptized. Members then bear responsibility with the church by sharing in the expenses of the church and the needs of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Members participate in Worship services. Members serve according to the need of the church as well as according to their own individual giftedness. Talk with the pastor if you would like to become a member.

“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.”
